OVERVIEW

This project was set as part of my university coursework, with the brief to take an existing piece of my own work and improve on it. I chose to revisit an old event poster concept I'd originally designed for Teletech Festival after attending.

I approached the improvement in two ways: a full redesign of the piece, and a short animation to bring the concept to life. The redesign focused on refining the composition, atmosphere, and colour palette, and I reworked the central figure to strengthen the poster overall. To complete the concept, I also built a fictional event lineup and details to match the poster's style, giving it a more complete and functional feel, as something that could realistically sit alongside official event marketing.

INSPIRATION

I referenced Klangkuenstler's tour posters for the scale, symmetry, and desaturated sci-fi atmosphere I wanted for Outworld. I also used Terminal V's lineup poster as a layout reference for handling text-heavy sections cleanly.

DEVELOPMENT

The original poster was used as a base point for the re-development. I decided to add more 3D fog and other models into the poster, as I felt like the original lacked depth. I then changed the face by adding more detail which created a higher contrast and a stronger focal point. The colour palette was shifted towards deeper, cooler tones to match the industrial aesthetic of Terminal V events and the futuristic, dystopian aesthetics of Klangkuenslter’s Outworld posters. A better sense of scale was achieved by Adding additional environmental elements, giving the piece a more cinematic quality. The poster was then complete after adding Typography was added to give the poster context
